Klingshields' Ripstop canvas or fabric is an acrylic treated polyester, woven using a reinforcing technique.
Ripstop is used outdoors for awnings, blinds, tents or tented camps.
Due to its strength ripstop canvas is also used to create canopy covers and tarpaulins.
Ripstop fabric material can also be used as a reinforcing fabric for products or clothes made to be worn for extreme durability or in extreme conditions, such as clothing for firefighters. Ripstop material is water resistant, water-proof, fire resistant, and is impenetrable (will not allow air or water through).
Ripstop is extremely popular throughout the textile marketplace. This type of woven fabric uses a special reinforcing technique to make it tear and ripping resistant.
During weaving, some reinforcement threads are woven in a crosshatch pattern to give the fabric the appearance it has. Ripstop is a collaboration of knowledge of material inputs, manufacturing processes and technical skills, allowing Ripstop to be an innovative product that is developed for customer specific customisation.
